1. Who we are

The MEGALS online store is operated by Despower Pty Ltd (ABN 41 641 652 806), trading as MEGALS, of 76 Macleod Street, Bairnsdale VIC 3875. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “MEGALS” mean Despower Pty Ltd. We’re committed to protecting your privacy and being clear about how we use your information.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to take your order and support you:

• Contact and order details — your name, email, phone number, delivery or collection address, and the items you order.
• Payment information — card payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your full card number is entered directly with Stripe and is never stored on MEGALS’s servers.
• Website usage — basic technical and analytics information (such as pages viewed and device or browser type) collected through cookies and similar technologies when you use the site.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to process and deliver your order, arrange Click & Collect or freight, provide receipts and order updates, handle returns, warranty and Australian Consumer Law claims, answer your enquiries, and meet our legal and tax obligations. Where you ask us to order in a product we don’t stock, we use your details to quote and arrange it.

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to fulfil your order, including:

• Stripe — to process card payments securely.
• Delivery and freight carriers — to deliver your order and provide tracking.
• Manufacturers and suppliers — such as Weber, Daikin and our lighting brands, where needed for a warranty claim, spare part, or a product ordered in for you.
• Our business and analytics tools — used to run our order records and understand how the site is used.

We may also disclose information where required by law. We don’t generally send your personal information overseas; where a provider stores data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Storing and protecting it

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including secure systems, restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and encrypted connections across the site. We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet our legal obligations (for example, we keep financial records for seven years as required by tax law), then securely dispose of it.

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the store may not work properly without them.
